Benefits for the Warrior

Each service member is assigned a health care coordinator who works together with the military hospital or clinc and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and acts as a Health Net Federal Services, LLC single point of contact for all civilian health care services. The health care coordinator is part of the WCS Team, which consists of skilled professionals with broad knowledge on complex health care planning services.

Our WCS health care coordinator will:

  • Provide consistent support from a knowledgeable designated health care coordinator who will offer personalized assistance.
  • Work with the service member, family members, physicians, therapists, and members of the military health care team to provide the best quality of care by using health care, community and other resources available in order to simplify the process.
  • Arrange for civilian health care including scheduling appointments as needed and coordinating authorizations and referrals (approvals) for health care (such as durable medical equipment).
  • Conduct traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screenings.
  • Keep the service member informed of health care choices to assist in personal health care decisions.
  • Assist with understanding benefit coverage including changes that occur when moving from one military status to another.
  • Make sure doctor, therapy visits and other services are provided in a timely manner.

With these benefits, our goal is to help service members and their families focus on recovery and healing.

Department of Defense Advanced Rehabilitation Centers

Our health care coordinators will also work with service members who have recently suffered an amputation to ensure they receive the timely care they require. When appropriate, service members will be referred to an Advanced Rehabilitation Center located at a military treatment facility. These facilities are specialized to treat amputee care, advanced trauma and rehabilitation to assist service members in returning to active duty or transition from the military.

The Department of Defense has three Advanced Rehabilitation Centers that specialize in providing this type of care.
